Felix Rosenboom is a performing cellist based in Berlin where he is pursuing his Masters studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hans Eisler under the tutelage of Prof. Nicolas Altstaedt. Felix fosters a particular love for chamber music and regularly performs with chamber ensembles across Europe and the UK. Felix made his debut as a soloist with Orchestra at the age of 13 performing the Monn Cello Concerto with the Claydon Chamber Orchestra. Since then he has gone on to perform as a soloist with numerous orchestras including the Lydian Chamber Orchestra, the Lyric Chamber Orchestra, and recently making his debut with the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt in the prestigious Konzerthaus Blaibach.

Felix recently graduated from the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg where he completed his Bachelors degree in music performance with Prof. Clemens Hagen. Prior to this he studied at Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under Selma Gokcen, and over the years received ongoing mentorship from renowned violinist Patricia Calnan. He has taken masterclasses with many acclaimed cellists including Danjulo Ishizaka, Andreas Brantelid, Ralph Kirschbaum, Roel Dieltiens, Gary Hoffman, Daniel Müller-Schott and Steven Isserlis. In the years 2023 – 2025 Felix has taken part in the International Prussia Cove Masterclasses in Cornwall, England, and recently performed as part of the young artists program at NUME academy 2025 in Cortona Italy. This allowed him to collaborate and perform with world renowned artists such as Stella Chen and Tommaso Lonquich.

Felix was granted the AYM Joan Scrutton Award, was twice awarded 1st Prize in the North London Strings Competition and won 1st Prize in the Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year 2019. Felix has been a prize winner in numerous international competitions including 1st Prize in the prestigious Anton Rubinstein International Cello Competition in Düsseldorf, Germany, and in May 2022 he was awarded 1st prize at the Concorso Mainardi cello competition at the Universität Mozarteum, Salzburg. He was also awarded a special prize at the Les Musicaes du Centre International Music Competition in Paris, the 2nd prize in the La Follia Nuova International Chamber Music Competition, and was a finalist in the Buchet International Cello competition 2024 in Belgium.

Felix has been named one of the winners of the Gautier Capucon Foundation Scholarship for the last 2 years and gave his performance debut at the renowned Schloss Elmau last August. Felix has also worked closely with several contemporary composers. In 2023 he played as part of a small chamber ensemble touring around southern Germany and Austria premiering works by Alexander Maria Wagner. This also included a CD Album recording titled ‘Käfer Töten‘ featuring acclaimed Vocalist and actor Graham F. Valentine. Recently Felix recorded his first solo Album premiering works for solo cello by french composer Jean Charles Gandrille, which will be released within the next year. Together with his duo pianist Sebastina Salvaterra, he has been accepted into world renowned pianist Shani Diluka’s Class d’excellence at the Académie of Rainer III in Monaco, for the upcoming year.

Valentine. Kürzlich nahm er sein erstes Soloalbum auf, das Werke des französischen Komponisten Jean-Charles Gandrille für Solo-Cello präsentiert und im kommenden Jahr veröffentlicht wird. Gemeinsam mit dem Pianisten Sebastian Salvaterra wurde Felix in die renommierte Class d’Excellence von Pianisten Shani Diluka an der Académie de Rainer III in Monaco für das kommende Jahr aufgenommen.
